Fletcher School's Conference on Gender and International Affairs

This crowdfunding project has ended, but you can still support The Conference on Gender and International Affairs here. Thank you for your continued support!

The Conference on Gender and International Affairs is an annual conference held at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. This year's conference is entitled, Money, Power, and Influence: The Gendered Dimensions of Geopolitics.

This year, the conference aims to deepen participants’ understandings of the relevance of gender in relation to status, access to power, and influence in all areas of international relations. The conference seeks to reiterate the importance of applying an intersectional lens to international affairs in recognition that gender and power are deeply intertwined.

This year's theme is focused upon introducing a gender lens to professional fields from which it has been traditionally absent or ignored. The conference will feature the following five panels:

  • Gender and Nuclear Security
  • Queering International Relations
  • The Politics of Data Collection
  • Gender, Guns, and Gangs
  • Gender and Impact Investing

Each year, the prestige of the conference has grown, allowing us to attract the highest caliber of speakers and panelists. The donations we receive from people like you, members of our broader Fletcher community, ensures we can invite the most talented individuals in the field of gender and international affairs, and provide a valuable and unique opportunity for personal and professional growth for students and professionals alike. With your support we can achieve our goal of creating an interactive and intellectual space to cultivate knowledge and conversations on the relevance of gender in all areas of international affairs.

The 2017 Conference on Gender and International Affairs will incorporate numerous dynamic methods of engagement to create a holistic experience for conference participants and help strengthen the link between academia and practice. Such opportunities include an employer showcase and small group workshops.

Please help by making a donation to support the production of this important and exciting conference. Our goal is to raise $5,000, and we can’t do it without your support. Thank you!
