In 1978, Donald and Charlotte MacJannet donated their beautiful Priory, in Talloires, to Tufts University, so that it could remain a place of learning, international understanding and exchange. In 2018, we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Tufts European Center - forty years of promoting and preserving the MacJannets’ commitment to international education and global citizenship; forty years of continuing international friendships, extended families and cultural exchange.
Each year, there are an increasing number of students who need financial assistance to make the trip to Talloires. We are committed to making Talloires accessible to students from all economic and social backgrounds. Your gift will help get students to Talloires, so that they can develop their international understanding and experience the world from a different perspective. Last year, your gifts helped provide scholarship awards to over 50 students in our Tufts in Talloires, Tufts in Annecy and Tufts Summit programs-students who might otherwise not have been able to participate.
If you participated in one of our academic programs, you remember the daily bus ride to Talloires, the amazing hikes through the Alps, the dedicated faculty and the incredible dinners with your French host family. Please help us ensure that finances are not an impediment to this important and formative student opportunity.
Thank you in advance for your donation.
This amount will help us provide a student with some "coffee money" so that they can spend an afternoon or two (or three or four) at a real French cafe. What better way to learn about French Culture?
Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Tufts European Center and its wonderful programs!
Tufts in Talloires students take two full-credit classes. A gift of this amount will help students pay for their required textbooks.
Many Tufts in Talloires, Tufts in Annecy and Tufts Summit students are first time travelers and do not have a passport when they apply to our programs, this amount will help defray the cost.
Students participating in our academic programs in Talloires are responsible for their air travel to Europe, which can be quite significant. This donation would make a big difference for students contemplating the trip.
