Welcome! The Tufts Ballroom team offers students the opportunity to learn many styles of dance, from social swing to competitive international waltz. Almost all of our members join with no prior ballroom dance experience, and we stay because we find that we love dancing and the team around us. This team has given each of us many great memories, and for many has provided a gateway to a new activity we otherwise would never have encountered. Last semester we welcomed over 30 new members to our team, making us one of the largest club teams on campus with more than 80 total members. The growth of this team over the last few years is wonderful, but unfortunately ballroom can be very expensive. Perhaps the most amazing part of the team is the professional instruction we receive from our coaches, who personally teach every level twice a week, even our newest members. These group lessons are paid for through semester dues from each member. In order to continue growing as a team and supporting our members, we hope to lower the cost of these dues for everyone.
We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to dance, regardless of individual financial situation. If you are able, please consider making a donation to help our team become more accessible to everyone!
Our newest members come to the team with varying levels of prior experience. We accept everyone, and by giving $10 you can help a newcomer pay for their first semester of dance lessons!
Our Bronze dancers have been on the team for at least one semester. They're learning many new moves and getting a grounding in all 19 of the dances we compete in! Your contribution helps them on their path to becoming a great dancer.
Our silver dancers are more experienced, having been on the team for over a year and a half. These are the members who give back to the team by mentoring younger dancers. You can help them continue to improve their dancing at the same time with your donation.
Our most experienced dancers, these members have usually been on the team for over 3 years. They help out at group lessons, mentor the younger dancers, drive to competitions, and generally help the team run smoothly. Even these established dancers have much to learn though, and you can help them here!
